Importance of electric coils, molded coils, solenoid coils, toroidal coils, custom cable harness

A Coil is such kind of a product that comes to your rescue while doing a lot of things and activities. It is a multifaceted item that is used for varied type of purposes. A coil can be of various types depending on its use. It can be an Electric Coil, molded coil, solenoid coil, toroidal coil, custom coils any many more. There are various manufacturers in the industry who produce these coils, all under the same umbrella. So be it an Electric Coil, molded coils, solenoid coils, toroidal coils or custom coil, the customer can find them under the same roof. Each coil has its own functionality and is used for different purposes. Every coil is different from the other and performs its task differently. Choosing the right coil also plays an important role in determining the proper functioning of the coil.

An electric coil is used in electronic circuits. Electric coils are generally plated with varnish and/or draped with insulating tape to give additional insulation and protect them in place. An Electric Coil is constructed of an electric conductor, capable of producing a wave or a field with magnetic or electric components as long as current flows through it. When it comes to molded coils, it can be available in various diameters. The material used for molded coils is designed to be used for low and medium production quantities as a protection for electrical devices such as coils against harsh environments experienced in industrial use. It is applied by hand to the coil and then placed in a heated mold which gives it the proper shape. Usually little additional labor is required to finish the part.

A solenoid coil three-dimensional coil that specifies to a loop of wire, often enfolded around a metallic core, which fabricates a magnetic field when an electric current is passed through it. Solenoids are significant as they can generate controlled magnetic fields and can be used as electromagnets. The toroidal coils, on the other hand, are also available in various diameters as per required by the customer. These toroidal coils are widely used in current transformers, instrument transformers, power transformers, energy meters and smps transformer. Custom cable harnesses consist of various types and sizes of wire, solder and crimp type terminals and pins, along with assorted electrical machinery specified by customers. Manufacturers provide design, engineering and wire harness manufacturing from small orders to high volume production as per needed.

How can I digitally control a heating element?
I'm creating a DIY project to automatically control the temperature in a homemade smoker. I need to control how much heat is put out by an electric coil hotplate. I want to alter the resistance to the heating element depending on tempurature readings to raise and lower the temperature. I have most of the circuit figured out but I'm not very good with analog circuits. I've looked at a few Digital potentiometers but none are rated for something as high as AC 120V. Also, I don't want to use a relay to shut off the heat as I need a constant heat source to produce smoke. Is this even possible?

REALLY tough grease on stove top?
I've seen many questions on Answers about this and I usually find questions that have moderate grease. So I'm asking for help here. I have REALLY REALLY tough set in grease on the electric coils (if that's what they're called) on my stove top. I did some research and I found that vinegar/white vinegar with water will help and more vinegar than water helps more with tougher grease. I was wondering if there is anything else that's out there. Not really fond of the chemical stuff you buy from the store. Thanks! Here's a picture: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e343/game_maniac22/IMG00378-20091021-2023.jpg

Which is the Best Cookware?
Hi All, Which one is the Best cookware? Is it Stainless Stell or Cast Iron or Enameld Cast iron or Anodized or Ceramic? I use electric coil stove. Does Anodized has Teflon or any other harmful chemical coating in it? Is ts good for health? Does Enameld Cast iron Teflon or any other harmful chemical coating in it? Is ts good for health? On Online I saw that Ceramic cookware also has lead and it is harmful to health. I know that Cast Iron is good. But it is too heavy and tough to maintain (doing seasoning). The appearance of Stainless steel looks good but it will sticky. So I dont want to use it. So I m totally confused. Can any one please suggest one best cookware to use (both in health wise and in durability). Also appreciate if you suggest me where I can buy them. Thanks

I boiled water on my stove and it exploded!?
Hi, I was trying to boil water last night on my electric stove. I remember commenting that it was taking longer than usual to boil - it was steaming like crazy but not boiling. Suddenly the water just exploded - and whatever water was left in the pot then began boiling happily away. I'm assuming that somehow the water was superheated (which I know can happen in microwaves). But on a stovetop? What happened? How can I prevent this in the future? For reference: I was using a stainless steel 2-quart pot, tap water, and an electric coil stovetop. Immediately before cooking, I had washed the pot with dish soap and a scrubby brush, rinsed well, and then filled with hot tap water.
