some supply curve (economic) questions?
The following changes will either cause i) a change in quantity demanded, ii) a change in demand, iii) a change in quantity supplied, or iv) a change in supply. Indicate which description applies to each of the following, and also whether the equilibrium price and the equilibrium quantity will rise or fall:
a) the effect of a shift to the right of the supply curve of margarine on the margarine market
b)the effect of a fall in the price of margarine on the butter market
c) the effect on the aluminum market of a subsidy which lowers the price of electricity (note:aluminum smelters use a lot of electricity)
d) the effect of a shift to the left in the supply curve of oats on the oat market
e) the effect of a rise in autoworker wages on the market for cars...
IF YOU CAN EXPLAIN TO MY WHY YOU CHOSE THE ONE YOU DID, THAT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

How much power does this linear generator give?
I want to make an assembly in which when one pushes a switch, it lights an infrared LED for 1/30 of a second.
Basically, instead of having a switch and a battery, i use a linear generator as a switch, giving current only when pressed to light LED. Like other simple linear generators, when one pushes the switch, the magnetic part of switch moves along the center of the copper winding coils against it's magnetic field, generating electricity. Note that this whole process last a fraction of a second (just like pressing any mechanical switches).
Question is, if diameter of the copper winding is 1.7 cm, with 250 turns; the magnet is NIB, and moves just a maximum of 5 mm when the switch is pressed; infrared LED (3mm) forward voltage = 1.25 V, forward current = 100mA, will it be sufficient to light the infrared LED for 1/30 of a second?
I know this isn't super precise situation description. Please give any opinions possible. Please provide any link to any page related to theoretical DIY generator calculation (equations and formulas), etc.
Thank you very much

Why is the auto industry constantly lying about those alternatives to gasoline?
It seems like every time that gas goes up in price, upset people start talking about alternative fuels. Then like a toy yo-yo, the gas goes back down and these same people stop talking. Now some car manufactures are talking about electric models that are soon to grace the center show room stage. Nothing really fancy like those muscle cars and trucks from the past. Corvette stingray's GTOs', Chevy Camaro, sporty SUVs No none of the above. for your driving pleasure (courtesy of big government) just some pitifully small, battery-powered deathtrap shaped like a large box that you conveniently plug in & charge overnight.
Therefore, this question I address to my fellow scientists and automotive engineers
Why don't we cutout the middleman here and symbolically convert all those vehicles to run on electricity? Note: "without changing the engine physics"
The over all physics of combustion makes this innovative conversion principal feasible. moreover, something we should at least try if we choose to keep the vehicles that we already have...

Will they ever make a martial art with stun guns?
So I could be a pseudo super hero until they somehow manage to make gloves that shoot out balls of electricity.
Note : I am very aware of the DIY shock gloves on youtube but that isn't what I am looking for.

Can you create energy through convection?
We all know that hot water goes up and cold water goes down basically circulating the water now what if we attached a turbine in one part of the tubing would it produce electricity
Note : I know free energy does not exist I am just wondering if we could get energy from convection
I mean transform the mechanical energy from the turbine into electrical energy
