Determining Wind Turbine Annual Power Output - a Simple Formula Based Upon Blade Diameter and Average Wind Speed at Your Location

To determine the approximate annual energy output for a small wind turbine, you can use the following formula:
(Yearly output in kilowatt-hours) = (0.01328) x (blade diameter in
feet) 2 x (average wind speed in miles per hour at your location) 3
The simplified formula is: Power = 0.01328(D) 2(V) 3
There are two factors that have a significant impact on energy output, blade diameter and wind speed. Increasing the blade diameter increases the energy output as a square function. For instance, if you increase the blade diameter by a factor of 2, the energy output will increase 4-fold.
Although blade diameter has a dramatic impact on energy output, wind speed is even more important. Energy is a cubic function of wind speed. For example, if wind speed is doubled, the energy output will increase by a factor of 8. Thus, wind speed is the most important consideration in smaller wind turbine energy production.
The above equation and discussion therefore indicates that your money is better spent on raising the height of your tower or choosing a better location with greater wind exposure than on a generator with larger diameter blades.

Horse power question- pumping water?
At what rate can a half-horsepower well pump deliver water to a tank 80m above the water level in the well? Give your answer in kg/s. (hp= 746J/s ).

What is the formula for power?
Please don't just say letters or whatever tell me what it is. For example I think it may be force(distance) divided by time in seconds but i'm not certain and I don't need a bunch of F(x)/T type answers. Thanks.

power loss is also equals to V*V/R, so, when the voltage is high, power loss should be high. but not??? why??
i mean, why do we only consider I*I*R as a formula for power loss but not V*V/R. according to power , both the formulas represent the power loss. thank you in advance for the answers.

How Capacitor Banks Should Be Wired In Order To Improve Power Factor?
I know that when trying to improve power factor capacitor banks should be inserted, but not knowing what the best solution is wired in Series OR Parallell?? Also what the formula for Power Factor is and what power factor loosage is acceptable in the United Kingdom,beacause in places i have heard that 0.8ohms is the maximum is this true. Please bare with me as i am new to PF and also Yahoo Answers Thanks for your help and support in advance!!!
Thanks for the replies guys much appreciated, the reasoning behind these questions are that i have an exam and was not too clear on this subject. "poorone" you say that if there is too many capacitors inserted that there would be a leading current, is this true for both a.c and d.c supplies? because i have a question paper stating "When a series circuit containing resistance and capacitive reactance is connected to an a.c supply the current will
a) be in phase with the voltage
b) lag the voltage
c) lead the voltage
d) appose the voltage
I have come to know that the correct answer is C to lead the voltage, but not knowing the reasoning behind this and would this also be true for a parallell circuit or would that appose the voltage??
